Historic day in OCM for speedyb, Canada, and the climbing community of OCM. Landon Tolman and Eriskine Pettis are two of the best Canadian riders ever. The only rider to prove better is the TT legend Solomon Henschel. Pettis and Tolman were best known for their DH and all-around abilities. They exist as the best DH specialists ever with exceptions to Damin Iacob, Umberto Impellitri, and Roderick Soule.
The 2 Canadians rode together on the same Youth club. Known as the "crazy 2." they gained much attention at a young age with their attacks on the DH sections without fear. Pettis recieved interest from the world class DH specialty squad, trackstah07. There he recieved a lot of training and became team captain. From there he rode many successful seasons. Unfortunately, Tolman's climbing ability wasnt enough to be spotted by a top club. However, he managed to be picked from his youth team to Paavoz. There he recieved much training and too became a world class star. The "crazy 2" were both overjoyed to both be picked for the Canadian national team.
Both their careers progressed with many successful results in the way. Unfortunately, Paavoz lacked enough funds to continue and was forced to release Tolman. He was picked up by a top dutch squad. There he rode 2 seasons but disliked the competition. Speedyb had showed interest before Tolman quit and before he knew it, Tolman was back in the Americas. Riding as team captain, Tolman brought speedyb to the top of division 3. A season later, Pettis was bought from the soon-to-fold-to-not-fold trackstah07. The "crazy 2" were finally back together. However, unlike before, they began to age fast. after a few crashes, both decided that downhills were just not worth being risky on anymore.
When Pettis decided to announce retirement from competitive cycling today, Tolman decided to follow in his footsteps.
Both riders both plan to stick to the cycling scene. They are both going to Switzerland to watch the Monte Rosa Tour live, a tour Pettis just missed winning. Tolman has been offered a few managerial positions at speedyb but has yet to decide. Pettis has been offered the same but he would like to pursue a job at trackstah07 if available.
The 2 legends will not be forgotten.

+1 to all of you.
Tolman had 46 results and Pettis had 32 (of course, Pettis's were in higher divisions and also had the more glory moments like MRT and being ranked 5th?? Overall and Tolman had a longer career). So altogether thats 78 results. Not bad! :)
I hope Pettis formidable career won't end there.
The end of an era. They truly won't be forgotten. Tolman was actually signed, but he's at least stepped out of the limelight (so it's a sort of David Beckham MLS Tour quasi-retirement). Pettis and Tolman were like brothers.
Too bad to see such Downhiller disappaer...although it leaves room for Sirjani to become the next DH-legend.
Heavy. Well written and sad to see them go!
